After 2 years of virtual events on video conferences, I was very happy, when the OMR invited me again for live performances in 2022. Well, afters such a long time, of course thing didn’t run well immediately. I got assigned the entrance, but from last time I knew, there are only small canvas and with 70,000 visitors, I was also worried for their and my safety, when I had to use my ladder to stick to top Paper Pixels above 4 meters.

Anyway, I found a nice spot and got many new contacts, people loved my creation and although it took me more than 6 hours without break standing on a wall a watching small papers, it was a pleasure recognising all the great feedback from the people.

This time I decided to continue the series of strong, powerful women and chose Marlene Dietrich, who not only positioned herself against Nazis during the 2nd World War and before, but also played successfully with her gender roles, not only on screen, but also in her private life. Wearing suits, top-hats and trousers made her her very own unique and androgyne style. Some people say, today she would have been considered non-binary, but who knows? More important is, that she was a role model in very uncertain times for women as well as for the hidden LGBT community in their closets.

How much she still is influencing and questioning the status quo even today, I recognised, when some younger people asked me about the name of this man, while I was performing today. They knew this famous portrait, but couldn’t remember „his“ name (and it’s not because maybe my artwork was hard to recognise, but they really didn’t know).

It’s still a long way to go. Thanks Marlene for your fights.

(Unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to decide at which wall or canvas I would perform today in advance, that’s why I didn’t want to risk a timelapse recording, although I am pretty sure, it would have looked nice!)
